Prologue:
The begining of this story starts off the day after the New Years Eve party where Theresa's secret was revealed. Julain is dead and the murder was Tabitha. Ethan has dumped Theresa for good and wants nothing to do with her. Theresa is heart broken and tries to get him back. It does not work and she is alone.
Chapter 1
"Ethan! Please don't leave me, I love you with all of my heart."sobbed Theresa
"It's much too late Theresa. You broke your promise to me and along with it you broke my heart. I can never trust you again. I asked you of only one thing and that was to be honest with me, and you couldn't. It's over Theresa." stated a devastated Ethan.
"Ethan......... No! Don't leave me. You mean everything to me. I don't think I can live my life without you. Every morning I wake up the only reason I can find for living is knowing that I have your love. Please we can work this out Ethan, I know we can. You possess my body, soul, mind, heart, my everything. Please don't turn away from me." cried Theresa.
With a tear in his eye Ethan stated "Of all the things you just said belong to me, I feel the exact same way for you. But their is one factor you left out. I can't trust you Theresa. And without trust............ none of those things mean anything. I have to go."
Ethan got into his car and drove off as quickly as he could. Theresa lay on the floor in her mother's living room crying. She knew this was her fault, he was right he could never trust her. He asked for honestity she gave him lies and deception. Just then Pilar walked into the room to find her daughter destraught and crying.
"Mija? What happened?"asked Pilar although she was quite sure of what took place.
"Momma ! Ethan said he can't be with me anymore. And I know that it's my fault but it doesn't stop the pain I feel in my heart." cried Theresa as her mother stroked her hair.
"I know you are hurt right now Theresa, but you have to know that Ethan is hurting as well. Maybe this is all for the best." finished Pilar.
"For the best momma? It can't be for the best that my heart feels like it has been ripped from my very chest. I won't let him go." Theresa said as she got up from the floor and grabbed her coat.
"Theresita where are you going?" asked a now worried Pilar.
"I am going after the man I love. I love him too much to just let him go." stated Theresa as she left the house.
"Oh No Mija! Lord please protect my child." prayed Pilar
Theresa ran from her house and got into her brother's car. She had to find Ethan, She had to make him understand. Theresa cried as she thought of how empty her life would be if he really lost Ethan forever. Just as she started crying again she saw Ethan's car in front of the park they used to go to everyday to talk.
"I just have to make him listen to me."whispered Theresa.
As Theresa walked into the park area she rehearsed what she would say to him. She had been so focused on her task ahead she hadn't saw the couple in front of her. She was about to walk past when she realized it was Ethan and Gwen. Gwen and Ethan were intently kissing. Theresa didn't know what to do or say so she ran back to the car and sped off.
"I've finally won. Theresa now knows Ethan wants me!" thought Gwen.
~*~At The Crane Mansion~*~
Therea had sped all the way to the Crane mansion crying. For most of the way there she didn't even really see the road, her tears were flowing in the way of her sight. She cleaned her face as best she could as she walked to the door. Before she made it the steps she prayed her mother had gone to work. Just as Theresa stepped into the hall she heard voices, so she stopped and listened.
"Gwen even said that Ethan expressed his love for her. That tramp Theresa finally lost and my Gwennie won." said a laughing Rebecca as she handed Ivy a glass of wine.
"Yes, that little lying tramp finally has her hooks out of my son for good." said ivy.
"To our children being together, a miserable Theresa, a dead Julian, and being rich." toasted the women.
Theresa by now had heard enough of them and used her cell phone to call her lwayer and Alistair. After a nice conversation about all she knew about Crane business, Theresa strolled into the main area of the living room.
"Is that right you cackling bitches?"saracastically laughed Theresa.
"How dare the two of you laugh at my pain and misfortune. I will make both of you pay dearly for my pain since you find it so humorous."scoffed Theresa.
"How the hell did you get past security?"scoffed Ivy.
"How did I get past security?'laughed Theresa as she sat down.
"I am still carrying Julian's baby. Which means I am still the one and the only Mrs. Julian Crane." stated a defiant Theresa.
"Alistair will never let this faijitia take full control of Julian's estate."sneered Rebecca.
"Really Rebecaa? Why are you so sure? Well, you should know you are not the only woman in this room that has blackmail worthy information on Alistair and Crane Industry. What you know is small potatoes compared to what I have on him." stated a cold Theresa as she heard her lawyer Jerry enter the house.
"I don't believe you." said Ivy.
Snapping her fingers Theresa's attorney walked into the room.
"This is Jerry. Jerry tell these ladies what we have in store for them."laughed Theresa.
"In my hand I have an order signed by Alistair Crane and Mrs. Theresa Crane that states Rebecca Hotchkiss and Ivy Winthrop must vacate the house withtin 24 hours or they will be forcibly removed." finished Jerry as he poured himself a glass of wine.
"I refuse! I am Mrs. Crane, I put up with too many years of Julian to get shafted by this amatuer bitch."screamed Ivy.
"No, I am Mrs. Crane, and I do not intend on leaving anytime soon." said Rebecca.
"No your both wrong. She is Mrs. Crane."said Jerry Marler with a chuckle as he pointed at Theresa.
"Theresa if you put me out I will tell Ethan and you will never have the chance of having him again." cided Ivy.
"Oh Really? Well as I remember it he doesn't want me so you can get the hell out and take six shooting Dolly over there with you. Oh yeah, and just in case you refuse................"Theresa said as she snapped her fingers and the Security appeared.
Theresa laughed hysterically as Ivy's wheelchair was pushed out of the house and Rebecca was escorted out.
~*~Chapter 2~*~
Alot had changed since the day Theresa took over her life as a Crane. Since then Alistair and her had gotten close, but sadly he died just 5 years later. When he died, Alistair left Theresa and her children Ethaniel, Eliza, Evan, and Elaine. Theresa had been pregnant with twins Ethaniel and Eliza. She later adopted twin babies Evan and Elaine they were now 5. Theresa never dated or married, so she focused on her kids and her business. In the 7 years that she had the business she had made even more money for it, not only that but she developed her on cosmetic company, fashion line, as well as several home and business decorating firms. All of theresa's dreams had came true............ well except one.
She never got Ethan back. She saw him from time to time since they're families were so intertwined with each other from his father marrying Pilar, his mother marrying Antonio, Sheridan marrying Luis, & Kay marrying Miguel. But no matter how much they saw each other or how much they pretended they were over the pain it hurt to see each other. Ethan had gotten married two years previously to some woman named Claire. Everytime Theresa saw Claire there was tension.
Everynight Theresa laid in bed and cried herself to sleep. She hated she had ruined her life but worst of all because of her lies she ended up costing her kids a great father. All of twins' lives they lived at home, Theresa would never allow them to go to a boarding school. Her kids were her all and she refused to lose them. Theresa didn't know what she would do if she lost her children.
"Momma come quick Eth is hurt! Momma! he won't get up." cried a frantic Eliza as Evan and Elaine out of their rooms with sleepy eyes.
Theresa bounded the marble staircase with her heart in her throat.As soon as she made it to the top and saw her son lying on the floor she screamed for a maid to call the ambulance. Theresa tried waking him up but he wouldn't stir.
"What happened Eliza?" asked Theresa as she got a cool towel for his forehead.
"I don't know momma. He was fine moment and the the next he fell to the floor and wouldn't wake up." cried Eliza.
By this time Evan and Elaine had started to cry as the EMT's started to take Ethaniel away.
Talking to one of the maids Theresa said "Maria please bring Evan, Elaine, and Eliza to the hospital."
~*~At the Hospital~*~
"Mija, what happened? Sam called home and said he heard on the radio that a child was taken to the hospital from the Crane house." asked Pilar.
"Oh momma it's Ethaniel. He passed out and hasn't waken up. I am so worried. I can't lose my little boy."whispered Theresa as tears started rolling down her cheek.
As Pilar hugged Theresa she said"You have to be strong for Eliza, Evan, and Elaine."
"I know momma but it's so hard. Eliza keeps crying. I want to tell her it will be ok and to stop crying. But momma I am just as scared as she is." whispered Theresa.
"Miguel!"said Pilar
"Yes, momma? Theresa are you ok?"asked Miguel.
"Mijo why don't you take Evan, Eliza, and Elaine for the night."said Pilar.
'I am holding up ok Miguel."said Theresa.
"Sure momma I'll take them for the night Daisy and Lilly would love to have Evan and Elaine to play with in the morning. I'll go get them ready now and stop by the house to pick up some clothes for them." said Miguel.
"Thank you Miguel. I am going to stay for the entire night. I'll call the house so that one of the maids can get the kids' clothes ready for you to pick up."said Theresa
"Hey Liza are you ready to spend the night with me and Uncle Miguel?" asked Kay.
""I don't want to! I want to stay here at the hospital with momma." cried Eliza.
"Are you sure? We are going to pop popcorn and watch movies. It'll be fun."said Miguel
Eliza ran to her mother crying" Momma! Momma! I don't want to leave you and Eth. I want to be here when he wakes up."
"Eliza you need your rest dear. You should go spend the night with Uncle Miguel and aunt Kay. Okay?" said Theresa in a tired voice.
"Momma please I want to stay. Please let me stay. I wnt to be here with my brother. Me and Eth have never spent the night apart. I don't want to go momma."cried a frantic Eliza as she started to hyperventillate.
"Somone get a doctor quick."screamed Luis as he rna to pick up his niece.
"You've got to calm down for grandma Liza." whispered Pilar as she held the oxygen mask on her grandaughters face.
"Eliza please calm down. You can stay the night. Just calm down sweetie please." said Theresa.
Eve walked into the room with a sad look on her face."Theresa, we found out what is wrong with Ethaniel........ He has developed Luekemia."
"What? Will he be ok?"asked Theresa.
"He will need a bone marrow transplant. But the only matches in your family are Eliza but as you know she has hemophillia, and Kay but she is pregnant and we'd have to wait 7 months until she delievered and another three for her body to stablize after the birth. However we are looking through the blood type databases. But since Ethaniel blood type is so rare it will be hard to find an exact match."finnished Eve.
"Well is he awake yet? And is Eliza ok?" asked a worried Theresa.
"No he isn't when Ethaniel fell, he was so weak that it knocked him unconsciene. However he should wake up within a day. As far as Eliza she should be ok, but she is having irregular breathing patterns and chest pains we will need her to stay overnight for observation. We already arranged for the two of them to share a room." said Eve.
'Oh thank you Dr. Russell. I know you will tae good care of my children." said Theresa.
~*~The next Day~*~
"Theresa wake up."said Whitney
"Whitney! OH I am so glad you are here." said Theresa as she hugged Whitney.
"Of course I'd be here. Ethaniel is my god son. Is he any better." asked WHitney
"Yes, but he still needs a match. Antonio decided to put an ad in the Harold for anyone with Ethaniel's blood type. I'm offering a million dollars." said Theresa.
"I'm sure you'll find someone. Is Eliza any better.'
"Yes, her breathing has cleared up but they are still running test. Dr. Russell just thinks it is stress on her immune system." said Theresa.
~*~Winthrop House~*~
"Honey did you read tge news today? The Ice Princess of Harmony is offering $1 million to anyone with the same blood type of her son that will give him bone marrow." said Claire.
"Claire call Theresa that. She's had a hard life and I'm sure her son being sick is not helping her one bit. I heard from Sheridan that Eliza is sick now as well." said Ethan.
"I still can't believe how pathetic she was when Ethaniel was born. I mean who names their son after the ex they can't have back. Talk about desparate." said Claire.
"Damnit Claire, watch how you talk about her. She is a damn good person. I don't say mean things about your ex boyfriends. Hell! you even had an affair with Noah when we first got together."
"Oh Ethan get off it. She broke your heart because she was a liar. Theresa broke your heat why do you stick up for her when all I say is the truth." said Claire.
"Claire you don't know anything about our situation or theresa. I don't say anything about your ex-boyfriend. Hell you even ahd an affair with him. So there is no difference between your ex and mine. So please stop saying disrespectful things about Theresa. I'm leaving for a while." said an angry EThan as he walked away.
"Your wrong Ethan there is a difference...........I got over Noah but you never got over Theresa." whispered Claire as a tear rolled down her cheek.
Chaptger 3
"Theresa?" called Ethan as he walked into Ethaniel & Eliza's room.
"Yes?"Theresa answered before she even looked up from her son's sleeping face.
" I came to see if I could be of help. I am O+" said Ethan slowly stroking her cheek before he pulled away realizing what he was doing.
Ethan started kicking himself mentally realizing that no matter how long he had been away from Theresa he still loved her with all of his heart. Seeing her in this much pain was making him so sad. He just wanted to kiss every pain, fear, and tear away.
"Ethan? Your O+ as well? Are you going to donate your marrow?"asked a hopeful Theresa.
Theresa slowly mused in her head. Does Ethan still care for me?
"Yes I am here to help. I couldn't bare not helping a sick child. Is Eliza doing any better?" asked Ethan as he glanced at the bed of the other sleeping child.
"Oh Ethan!"Theresa said as she jumped up and hugged Ethan with Tears in her eyes.
Before either thought about it they shared an earth shattering kiss that ended only when the emotional high disipated.
"I'm sorry!"They both said at the same time.
Looking away Theresa said "You should see Dr. Russell to make sure you are compatible and healthy enough to go through with the transplant. Would you mind staying here with the two of them until I come back from the rest room I need to freshen up."asked Theresa.
"Sure go ahead." stated Ethan.
"By the way Ethan thank you." said Theresa before she turned to walk away.
"Hello."said a weak voice.
Ethan immeadiately looked down into the face of Ethaniel whose eyes were now partly open. He seemed so weak but his face remindded Ethan so much of his own. Those blue eyes and blonde hair. I wonder if I could be the father?......................
"Hi slugger. I'm glad to see you are awake." said Ethan as he pressed the nurses call button and touched the child's warm face.
"Where is my mommy?" questioned Ethaniel.
'She had to go to the bathroom for a moment. She's been her sitting with you all night." stated Ethan.
"Did someone here page the nurses' station. Oh my Ethaniel's woke I'll call Dr. Russell."exclaimed Charity Standish.
Just then Theresa and Dr. Russell both walked into the room and were very happy to see him wide awake. Theresa rushed over to her son and kissed his cheek. Slowly tears rolled down her face as she told her son she loved him. Ethan just stood at the door wishing he and Theresa were still together. They could be raising those kids. Ethan tried to push the thought out of his mind after Dr. Russell asked everyone to leave as Dr. Bennett(Noah) enetered the room to examine Ethaniel.
"Dr, Russell I came to see would I be able to give bone marrow to Ethaniel, I am O+." stated Ethan.
"We would need to run some tests, and look at your overall health but I think we may have a match here. Please go to the room on the left and a nurse will be there soon to take some blood."
"Dr. Russell, I need a favor and I know this goes against your Ethics but I have to know."stated Theresa.
"What is it Theresa?"asked Eve.
"Can one of the test you run be a DNA test using one of the samples from Eliza or Ethaniel. I just have to know if he is the father."stated Theresa.
"Theresa I can't do that!" said Eve.
"Please Dr. Russell I need to know the truth for once and for all. I always thought he was. When Alistair was still alive he had a DNA test done on the kids to catalog their blood types but also to see if Julian was really the father. He never let me see the results, from that day on I always wondered was Ethan the father." stated Theresa.
"Come with me."stated Eve as she led Theresa into her office.
Once inside she searched for a key and then opened a wall safe. As Theresa sat and looked in amazement she wondered what Eve could be looking for. In her soul Theresa felt that this could change her life forever.
"Here. Alistair left me this before he died and said that if the kids ever got sick and needed some sort of operation or if you ever asked me the question that you just asked, I was supposed to give this to you. Please forgive me for not showing you sooner. I'll leave you alone for you to read." stated Eve.
Alistair's voice:
Dearest Theresa,
If you are reading this that means one of my grandchildren is sick. I am truly sorry for never telling you the truth of the paternity of Eliza and Ethaniel. I was afraid at that time if I told you the truth you would leave. I was an old stupid man. I needed love and you, Eliza, and Ethaniel gave me that love. I know my need of love and companionship is no excuse for trying to make you be alone for the rest of your life but I didn't know what else to do. I always figured the children weren't really Julian's the two previous children (Ethan and his sister Natalie) weren't. I just couldn't let go, I figured if you knew the truth you'd abandon me and forbid me to see you and the kids. And in my entire life the three of you have been the only people who even cared if I was alive. You were like a child to me. So in this envelope the DNA results are present and there is also a safety deposit key and a decree that states that even though you are not really Julian's wife you can still keep everything I left you. Please be happy milkshake(his nickname for her).

Crying Theresa realized how much Alistair had really cared. She flipped to the back of the packet and saw the results. Ethan was really the father. All these years had went by with her being alone. Wishing the kids had a father and Alistair had known all along. But for some reason she couldn't seem to get mad. She realized she loved Alistair as well. He had been the father she never had. But now a bigger problem exsisted how would she tell Ethan. Just then the door swung open.
"Mrs. Crane, Eve wants to see you now. Mr. Winthrop is a perfect match." said a perky Charity.
"Thank you Charity I'll be there in a moment." said Theresa.
"We can schedule the process for tomorrow if you can?"Eve stated to Ethan.
'That is fine with me. I just need to tell my wife."
Theresa then about Claire. I can't tell him the truth. Claire hates me, she'd think I had been hiding the truth all along. Theresa blocked all the things out of her mind as she started writing a certified check to Ethan and handed it to him. As he looked at it he pushed it back at her.
"Theresa I don't wnat this. I came to help your son out of the goodness in my heart. I'd do anything help you becuase I love yo..............your kids."Ethan said.
"I insist please take the check."said Theresa.
"No" Ethan said ripping the check in half as he kissed Theresa cheek and caressed her chin.
~*~Winthrop House~*~
" While you were at the hospital all day with theresa I was here crying my eyes out!" screamed Claire as she threw a vase at the wall.
Ducking Ethan stated calmly"What sort of crying can you do in the bed with another man?"
"Don't try to turn this on me Ethan Wintrop. Maybe you should sleep elsewhere tonight." said Claire as she turned her back on Ethan.
"Claire this is my house and since I can't stand the sight of you right now I think you should leave.." said Ethan as he held the door open for her to leave.
"I should have known not to trust a Hotchkiss woman even if it was just a cousin."grumbled Ethan as he slammed the door.
Just then Ethan spotted a note on the table. He picke dup and began to read.
Dear Ethan,
I never stopped loving you. I am sorry that my lies hurt you so many years ago but I need you in my life again. I just found out that Eliza and Ethaniel are your children. If you love me please let me know and meet me at the wharf.

~*~Wharf~*~
"Theresa I love you too!"said Ethan as he wrapped his arms around her on the wharf.
"You came."said Theresa as she leaped into his arms and kissed him deeply.
They both realized they never wanted to let go of each other again. Stepping apart Ethan reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring and kneeled onto the ground.
"Theresa will you marry me. I know we have ben apart for so long but I have never felt emotions this strong with anyone else but you." stated Ethan.
"Of course I will marry you."cried Theresa.
~*~*~The Next Day at the hospital~*~*~
Intercom: Code Blue
"Oh my god Eve what's happening" cried Theresa as she watched the other doctors move ethan out of the observational operation room.
"Ethan is going into shock. Don't worry Ethaniel is ok. And we think we can stablize Ethan." said Eve.
"Please make sure Ethan is ok."said Theresa
"He will be. Why don't you go tell Eliza and everyone that Ethaniel is doing great."said Eve trying to remove the doubt from Theresa.
"Everyone, Ethaniel is doing great but....................Ethan is going into shock." Theresa said as she burst into tears.
Sam and Pilar rushed over to hold her as she sobbed uncontrablly. Pilar had seen the contents of the envelope and had relayed the information to Sam. Sam walked off to get Theresa some water.
"God please protect my son" prayed Sam in the church chapel.
~*~*~Two Days Later*~*~
"Eve is he ever going to wake up?" asked theresa as she held Ethan's hand.
" To tell the absolute truth...............It's not looking good Theresa."stated a solemn Eve as she turned to leave.
"Ethan please wake up. You have so much to live for. You have a business and a huge family that loves you. Please wake up."sobbed Theresa.
"Ethan I love you with all of my heart. I never stopped loving you even the day I saw you kissing Gwen. I just couldn't let go. You have to wake up to be a daddy to Ethaniel and Eliza and Evan Elaine.We need to be a family." cried Theresa as she rubbed his hand.
Just then the vitals monitor started beeping. Nurses and Doctors came rushing in the room yelling he's flatlining. Everything was happening so quickly as they rushed Theresa out of the room.
