Prologue

Theresa is planning Ethan's wedding to Gwen when she falls head over heels for the Crane hier. While Gwen is away in New York Theresa start searching Ethan's feelings to see if he truly loves her. One night out on the Wharf after a long day of planning Ethan's wedding he passionately kisses Theresa. For 4 months Theresa and Ethan have a private affair only known by few people. As the stars shine above them, the two say I love you at the same time. Confused and not knowing what to do the two go to the beach to relax and think. Waking up in the morning Ethan realized he could never be with Theresa what would he do. How could he break Theresa's heart. Day in and and day he had said he loved her but he just couldn't be with her.

Chapter 1
"Theresa honey wake up" Ethan whispered. "Oh Ethan I have dreamed of last night for such a long time and now all of my dreams are coming ture." Theresa said in a low voice. Looking deeply in her eyes Ethan didn't have the heart to tell her the truth so he just laid with her and held her close. Feeling his pager vibrate Ethan jumped up to find it. Sighing as he looked at it he knew it was Gwen. Theresa looked at the pained experssion on his face and asked what was wrong. Ethan told her it was Gwen and that they had to get going. But what about last night. We made love. You are going to break it off with her aren't you? No Theresa I can't this was wrong. Last night was a mistake. Get dressed so I cna take you home

On the ride Theresa stared out the window crying. Never looking Ethan's way. Ethan was sorry but this was the right thing to do. He had a responsibility to marry Gwen. Ethan couldn't bare looking at Theresa. He could hear her strained sobs but couldn't think of a consoling word. As Ethan dropped Theresa off at her house Theresa said "I love you" , but Ethan said nothing in return. Ethan just sat still looking forward. Theresa broke out into larger sobs and ran up to her house. Ethan pulled off quickly not being able to stand seeing the woman he loves in so much pain.

Pilar got up to go to the window when she heard a car door slam. Seeing her crying daughter run up to the house Pilar knew it was bad news. Mija what's wrong. Theresa cried even louder as she said Oh momma you were right. I should have listened to you. I should have listen to Luis. But I was foolish. I should have know Ethan could never love me. All the signs were there but I was just too blind to see them. Pilar hated to see her baby girl so hurt. SHe wondered what Ethan could have done. Theresa sat on the couch continuously crying I just wnat to die momma. My poor baby. Your heart will mend. But you have to put on a brave smile gwen should be here soon you have to be maid of honor at her wedding. Oh momma I can't handle it. I'll just die. I love Ethan too much to watch him marry gwen. But you must Theresa you must. Gwen and her mother will suspect the truth of the sitaution not to mention Luis will figure out what is going on. And if Luis finds out Ethan hurt you he will tear him limb from limb.It is best for everyone if you just go through this with a brave face and try your best honey.

Sitting on her bed Theresa hugged a bear Ethan had won for her at the carnival when they first met. Oh Momma how can I be brave when I feel like my heart has been ripped from my very body. I love Ethan!! Theresa that isn't exactly something you should be shouting I could have been Luis stated a concerned Sheridan. I don't care anymore let him know. I am miserable. My heart is broken. Ethan used me like I was nothing and then disregarded me like a used piece of tissue. Sheridan looked at her in disbelief. No he wouldn't do anything like that. Crying even louder Theresa said that is what I thought until it happened. And now I have to watch the man I lvoe marry th woman I despise.

Theresa please help me with my dress it isn't fitting right. Theresa glared at a whining gwen. Maybe it's because you aren't wearing the corset like I told you too. Why are you so snappy today Theresa? Sorry Gwen just alittle on edge. This wedding could make or break my life. WHat? I mean my career. If your guest like my designs it could make my career. Gwen nodding says ohh I understand. I would be edgy too. I am so happy Theresa. Ethan loves me. Today is our wedding and we will live happily ever after. Forever in love, I can't believe this day is finally here. Theresa cringed as she heard those words. They were so true and yet so painful.That's what she always thought too.

Man I still can't believe you treated her like that, Whit says she hasn't eaten since the day she got home, she looks so sickly, there's no sparkle in her eyes. Chad said as he looked disappointedly at Ethan. I can't think abotu that right now. I made a comment with Gwen. And I can't pull out of it now. stated a sad Ethan. Man you talk about your marriage like it's a deal or a strenuous task. Why not be with the woman you love. Chad your my best man. And as my best man your supposed to keep me happy. SO can you please stop nagging me. I can't make you happy Ethan Chad said. Only Theresa can do that.

Pilar, I don't see how Theresa is doing it. I mean being maid of honor at a wedding you designed for you and your sweetheart is one thing but it's a totally different situation when your sweetheart is getting married and you are his fiance's maid of honor. And especially aftr what he did. Whitney, what has Ethan done to Theresa. SHe won't tell me. Please I need to know how to help her. I'm sorry Pilar I wish I could but I can't. SHe made me promise. But I cna say this, she has to get over this on her own, no one can help her.

Oh! Theresa it's almost time. I can't wait to be standing there next to Ethan, saying our vows. Oh I lvoe him so much. Theresa barely listening to Gwen finished pinnin her hair. Ok now your done. Theresa, I just want to thank you for all the hard work you put in on our wedding. That's why Ethan and I decide to not only give you a bonus but to send you on a trip to Cancun as well. Theresa thought *What the hell is this a consolation price, *announcers voice* You can't have the man you love but you can have this lovely parting gift. And thanks for playing our game. * Oh, Thank you Gwen. How thoughtful. By that time Gwen was so wrapped up in herself as usual she hardly noticed Theresa leaving the room. Maybe some fresh air will clear my head. Strolling through the gardens behind the chapel Theresa a rose that was dying from the harsh fall winds. Theresa picked up the flower and clutched it so tightly the thrones made her hand bleed. Noticing flood Theresa went back in and took care of her wound. As she was putting iodine on the pricks, Ethan walked into the room. Oh sorry Theresa I didn't knwo you were in here. How are you? Ethan don't pretend as if you care. Excuse I need to get back to your fiance. Walking back into the room Gwen begins complaining that she's been looking for theresa.

Pilar she looks so sickly and tired up there. I wish she didn't ahve to do this Whitney whispered quietly. As gwen came strolling down the aisle Theresa felt sick. She wanted to just die on the spot. Chad kept lookinbg at her encouragingly with, but it was not helping. Nothing could help. Father Logain began the ceremony and Theresa began to imagine it was she and Ethan getting maried. She was rudely brought to reality as gwen said I do. When the Ethan and Gwen kissed theresa wanted to run from the church but she couldn't have moved her feet if she wanted to. They felt like dead weight. As the church cleared Chad and Whitney made their way to her and she feel into chad's arms near tears. Whitney and Chad escorted her to the room where Gwen had prepared for the wedding. There Theresa just fried and cried. Not knowing what to say Whitney just held her friend and rocked her. Whitney sent Chad to make an excuse why Theresa would be late for the reception.

Whitney why doesn't he love me! Theresa's pain suddenly turned to rage. Looking into Theresa puffy red eyes Whitney said only god knws honey. Then a soft knock came at the door. Theresa slipped into the bathroom as Whitney found out who it was. Whitney was relieved it was Sheridan. Whitney and Sheridan whispered about Theresa's state, saying how miserable she looked. Sheridan said others had noticed her state but she just told them Theresa had the flu. Everyone beleived her.

Oh there's my maid of honor. I was almost afraid you weren't going to show up Theresa. gwen said happily. Theresa shook her head and said, No, I was going to be here I just a little sick. Gwen said I'm glad you feel better. Well it's time for pictures. Theresa cringed as she had to be behind Ethan and gwen in their wedding protraits.

Finally she didn't have to talk about the wedding anymor eit was time for dinner. Theresa quietly sat with her family but she never touched her food. Luis asked his she was ok and of course she lied and said the flu really had her down. Luis believing his siter went back to eating. Pilar tired to coax her daughter into eating whispering to her that she hadn't eaten in nearly a week. But Theresa just refused to eat and sat looking distraught. After she made a toast to the happy couple Theresa left the ballroom and decided to go for a while. As Theresa got outside she realized it was raining but she just gottn go back in that house. So she walked around the Estate in the pouring rain. She was barely able to see from all the rain and her tears. She finally came to the pond her and her father used to go to at the Crane Estate all the time. She sat down by the pond an cried to her father.
*Theresa flashesback*
Papa when I grow up I want to marry Ethan Crane.
Laughing my little girl already has her sights on the man of her dreams

Oh Papa, what am I to do. I love Ethan with all of my heart. When he was 8 and I was 6 he promised he would always protect me no mater what. But now he doesn't even care. I wish you were here to help me papa. I was so foolish then. Bu tnow I understand that a crane can never love someone below their social class.Just then the rain seemed to get heavier and Theresa just as heavy.

Whitney where's Therese, Ethan asked. Why should you care. you hurt her so bad. I just wanted to make sure she's ok. Don't worry about her you worry about your new wife. Ethan dear some people want to see Theresa about her designs have you seen her. No mother I just went and asked whitney but she said she hadn't a clue where theresa disappeared too.

Excuse me everyone a young woman has been discovered on the grounds unconcious if you have any idea who she may be please come and indentify her. As soon as Pilar heard that she was automatically worried. Theresa had been missng for well over 2 hours. Worried Pilar and the rest of the Lopez-Fitz clan ran downstairs to see the young woman and it was indeed Theresa. She was soaked through and through and was very blue in the face. A paramedic was giving her cpr. Just as they were giving up hope she started to spit up water. Ethand and Gwen stood in shock with the rest of the guest as the EMT's loaded Theresa into the ambulance.

Pilar will Theresa be ok a worried Ethan and Gwen asked. EThan looked as if he wanted to cry. Pilar just shook her head and said They're not sure. Ethan sat down for fear he would pass out. Pilar made the statement that they could leave and go on their honeymoon but they both quickly declined. Luis paced the waiting room and Sheridan nervously wrung her hands. Whitney sat next to chad glaring at Gwen and Ethan. Whitney whispered to Chad. How dare they show up here. How dare they. Chad just grabs her hand and pulls her up to go for a walk. Eve lightly smiles as she sees her daughter and her fiance go for a walk. Eve walks in and says that it seems as if Theresa was submerged in water for quite sometime. which probably means she slipped into the pond bnut couldn't get the water out of her lungs before she passed out.

Later on a second male doctor came out to speak with the family and says don't worry the baby is fine. All in the room looked confused and Pilar said the baby? the doctor said yes Theresa is 3 months pregnant at this point. And although she had a lack of oxygen for a while the baby is still ok. Everyone was stunned. Pilar fell back into her chair. Miguel left Kay's side to go get his mtoehr some water. Pialr looked at Whitney. Whitney, Theresa didn't have a boyfriend she only had time to plan the wedding. Who's the fatherof this baby. Whitney quickly looked away and mumbled an I don't know. Chad, Whitney, and Sheridan flashed each other knowing glances. Ethan sat next the Gwen and his mother stunned. He knew he was the father of Theresa's child. Gwen began to get whiney. Ethan can't we go on our honeymoon. I'm sure theresa will be fine. But If we're not in Paris in the next 15 hours we'll lose our honeymoon sweet and all the reservations I made. Gwen how could you say that!!! She's the one who made this wedding possible. EThan me and you are the ones that made this wedding possible. Gwen saud loving rubbing his hand.

Ivy argeed and said Theresa would want them to go on with the palns she made for them. She wouldn't want them to waste their time here. And that she'd call if anything important happened. Ethan and Gwen left but not before Chad pulled him to the side and said your just going to leave man knowing your the pops of that baby. Before Ethan could replied Chad walked off shaking his head in disappointment.

*Paris*
Gwen cuts off Ethan's cell phone and kisses his neck. Listne honey I'm sure if nothing has happened in 3 days that nothing will happen in the next few hours. Gwen starts to kiss Ethan and she leads him to their bed.

*Harmony*
Darn! Ivy screamed as she called her son's cell for the 20th time. He promised he'd keep it on. Ivy have you gotten him yet Theresa really wants to speak to him. Whitney said. No his phone is off. I'll have to call the hotel and get the room phone rang.

Momma, I neve knew I was pregnant. But mija by who? Who is the father. I can't tell you that momma. I know you will be ashamed of me. Theresa lightly sobbed. Tersita you are my little girl no matter what you do I can never be ashamed. Momma I jsut can't. If I tell the truth it ill cause many pain and sorrow.

Momma I think I am going into labor. Mija it is probably just false labor you are only 7 months pregnant. No momma that's not it. I need to go to the hospital. And quick. Ok honey wait just one minute let me get my keys. Rushing Theresa to the hospital Sam stopped Pilar for speeding. Sam Theresa is in labor. Sam looking at Theresa said ok I'll get in front of you so people know to get out of your way. As they sped to the hospital Sam radioed Luis to get there a.s.a.p. As soon as Therea got to the hospital Eve rushed her into the delievery room. It had been 4 months and Theresa hand't seen Ethan at all. She hadn't wanted to see him. But now that she was about tobring their child into the world she couldn't help but want him there with her. As Eve was rolling her to the room she told eve to call whitney and tell whit to call him. Eve looked confused btu said ok.

Whitney:Hello Ethan
Ethan:Yes this me?
Whiteney:This is whitney, Theresa told me to tell you she is going into labor.
Ethan:Really, I mean I hand't talked to her.
Whitney:Yes, aren't you the proud papa
Ethan:Whitney you just don't understand....
Whitney:And I don't care to understand so please refrain from explaining it to me.
Ethan:I do Love her
Whitney:Oh Please
*dial tone*
Ethan:Hello Whiteny?

Theresa had her baby boy and he looke so much liek Ethan it was a wonder no one except her mother, chad, whitney, and sheridan. As theresa rocked her son in her arms as he drifted to sleep she rubbed his little forehead. looking it his beautiful dark blonde hair and his beautiful blue eyes. He was suh a beautiful baby.

Ethan honey how are you? ivy asked her son. Lately she ahd noticed her son was withdrawn from society she could tell he wasn't happy with Gwen. gwen was never there and yet he stayed with her. Julian then gave Ethan his birthday present. Ethan my boy I know it has been awful living with Gwen but you too have been married a little over six months and the merger is complete. Really? Asked an excited Ethan. I see you already have someone in mind. Why do you say that father? Aww my boy it is because of the gleam in your eyes.

Mr. Crane this just came for you. It was a medium size jewelry box with gold wrapping. Then open the box to see the most beautiful bracelet made of gold but what it said caught him off guard:
Ethaniel Sammuel Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald
The words took his breath away. She had named their son after him. How he longed to see his son. More than ever before. As he was about to put on the bracelet he looked on the back to see an inscription that brung tears to his eyes:

Daddy, Ethan said to himself. It finally dawned on him he was a father. There was a part of him out in the world. A part of him he help make. Ethan then noticed the letter that came along with the gift:
Dear Ethan:

For the past 6 months we haven't spoke to each other. I don't hate you. I am hurt that you cared so little about me that you never even called to check on me. And I began to feel that you felt the same way about our son as well. But last night as I rocked him to sleep and looked into is piercing blue I saw the truth. I bet your are just as timid as before. And I have a feeling your just afraid of what to say. Well I'm extending my hand Ethan. Your son deserves you in his life. Even if we can't be together.

Mother I have something to tell you screeched an excited Ethan.Looking up from her magazine Ivy stared at her son. All Ethan did was had her the bracelet. She read it quickly and said aww that's sweet and was about to pick up the magazine again before it fully sunk in. Ethan your the father of Theres'a baby. Yes mother. And you knew this from the beginining. Yes mother. How could you let her go through this ordeal alone. I had to mother, i had to make the merger. ivy hugged her son and said I am happy for you but I want you to be apart of that child's life. Ethan went upstairs to write Theresa back:

Dear Theresa,

I know my actions have broken your heart. I want to be and your life as well as our new born child. I will gladly give up Gwen or anything else for that matter too be with you. And not it's not just because we have a child together it's because I sincerely love you with all my heart. I never stopped loving you. Everyday I wake up your the fiest thing on my mind. Please reply to this letter.

Oh mother look what Ethan sent. Isn't it beautiful Theresa said looking at a beautiful christening gown. Since the letter Ethan, Ivy, Julian, adn Alistair had sen scores toys and clothes for the baby, they also have been more many a time to visit. Ethan divorced gwen. But Gwen didn't mind she had been cheating on EThan with Noah Bennett during most the their marriage.

~*~*~*~*~*~For months later Theresa and Ethan's/Whitney and Chad's Wedding~*~*~*~*~*~~*

Whitney and Theresa talked about the dreams they had as children about their weddings. Hmmmm and now all our dreams have come true. You know Theresa I always thought that your fairy tale fantasies would never come true. Laughing Theresa said yeah I had my doubts from time to time too.
*wedding march*
I think that's our cue amigo. says Whitney
As they both walk slowly down the aisle neither one can remember a happier moment. As they reach the alter Theresa can't help but cry watching Ivy hold her son. Theresa then turns to ethan as she says her vows. And then it is Ethan's turn. As the wedding is over and everyone heads to the reception Theresa holds her son and hugs Ethan. Thinking she's never been more happier. Theresa thought who would have ever thought Alistair Crane would notonly approve of the wedding but be in attendance. It brought tears to her eyes as she realized she finally got her fairy tale end. She finally got her happily ever aftter.
